Stumptown Comics Fest 2008

This convention was good times, man! First of all, my neighbors were amazingly talented and very nice people: Derek Kirk Kim (left), Jason Shiga, and Neil Babra (not in picture)

There were so many anonymous hipsters walking around that in the end I failed to take pictures of people I actually know. This is a shame. It was a real pleasure to see Brandon, Corey, Jason, Doug, Shannon, Nicholas, Erika, Meredith, Winter, Scott, Raina, and Indigo, among others.

The weather in Portland was mild and sunny, nothing short of a miracle according to the locals. It was excellent for long walks around town. There are more pictures of Portland and the comics festival in my Flickr photostream.

FLUX: university business challenge

I'm excited to be participating in the national finale of FLUX this weekend, and not least because it comes with an all-expenses-paid trip to freakin' Plymouth! We'll be developing ethical and eco-friendly business plans, and probably not getting any cheese burgers.

Speaking of carbon footprints, tomorrow (night) I'll be announcing some exciting new merch that's totally printed with soya based ink on 100% recycled paper holy balls!

Some people have emailed me asking what's up? Now, I know this is a loaded question, and I have stopped responding with: 'Eh, not much.' If human curiosity knew such selfless forms, everyone would be emailing perfect strangers for no reason other than to ask what's up, and nobody would have any reason to blog anymore.

But wait, what did I do in January instead of drawing some damn comics? Well you see I have been growing my hair. So.

In idle moments I've written essays for school, developed some new comic ideas, and shot a music related animation video. This month it's back to journal comics. The ironic emotional tragedy must go on! Stay tuned.
