Stumptown Comics Fest 2008

This convention was good times, man! First of all, my neighbors were amazingly talented and very nice people: Derek Kirk Kim (left), Jason Shiga, and Neil Babra (not in picture)


There were so many anonymous hipsters walking around that in the end I failed to take pictures of people I actually know. This is a shame. It was a real pleasure to see Brandon, Corey, Jason, Doug, Shannon, Nicholas, Erika, Meredith, Winter, Scott, Raina, and Indigo, among others.


The weather in Portland was mild and sunny, nothing short of a miracle according to the locals. It was excellent for long walks around town. There are more pictures of Portland and the comics festival in my Flickr photostream.

Heh. That hipster is Jason Fischer, aka Studio JFish! He's an awesome artist, I'd recommend looking up some of his stuff.

I was just going to say that! I recognized JFish the instant I saw that pic.

Liz, if you pull out your copy of Side A, JFish did the first story in the book.

Sorry I didn't get to say bye. My team were red-alerting the hell out of portland. I tracked you down to a very interesting comics interpreted in ancient art panel, I was mere feet away from your bountiful head of hair, but I didn't want to disturb the panel, which I myself got sucked into for a few minutes.

Hey, that was a bummer indeed. I wish I had known you were leaving so early, I would have skipped the panel. It was very informative, at least! UNTIL NEXT TIME.
